Friends of Banneker Park

Friends of Banneker Park is a community organization that partners with the DC Department of Parks and Recreation to preserve and enhance Banneker Recreation Center and its surroundings in Washington, DC. The group works to keep the park's recreation center, playgrounds, pool, splash pools, basketball and tennis courts, and baseball fields safe, clean, and welcoming. It also evaluates and introduces new programs to complement those already offered by DPR. Through volunteer efforts, youth sports, neighborhood events, and community gatherings, the organization aims to strengthen ties between residents and their shared park space, fostering a sense of pride and belonging among neighbors.
