Appraiser & Umpire Association (AUA)

The Appraiser and Umpire Association (AUA) is a U.S. professional association founded in 2021 and headquartered in Chicago. It provides education, continuing-education credit, ethics standards, and the AUA Certified Appraiser and AUA Certified Umpire credentials for professionals who resolve property insurance claim disputes through appraisal. AUA serves insurance appraisers, appraisal umpires, public and independent adjusters, restoration and roofing contractors, and attorneys working in claims. The association also maintains a research center tracking state-by-state laws, rules, and court decisions relevant to insurance appraisal. Its mission is to raise standards of fairness, documentation, and accountability within the property insurance appraisal process across the United States.
