La Douelle

La Douelle occupies a former cooperage warehouse along the canal in Narbonne, combining an evening restaurant with a card-game salon. Eight felt tables replace the old workshop, with the original iron hoops and oak staves left as decoration. Guests can dine in the evening and play card games scored with counting chips rather than money—no betting or virtual play is offered. The venue seats up to sixty people, is open only to adults, and runs a single evening service from Wednesday to Monday. Weekly themes include a beginners' night, a tournament, and slower evenings, giving the place a steady, community rhythm centered on food, cards, and conversation.
