A shared shelf gallery where 130 people display their inner world
Galería Íntima is a new community project launching in the center of Santa Cruz de la Sierra, Bolivia, offering 130 personal shelves where members display books, objects and handwritten notes that reflect who they are. Inspired by community libraries in Japan and Singapore, each shelf becomes a self-portrait its owner can update whenever they like. The space is meant to be a meeting point for the whole city: visitors can sit, read, borrow a book for a while, and sign a small logbook by each shelf. The physical location will only open once the first 75 of the 130 shelves find an owner, making that number the project's founding milestone.
