Thea Ivy is a painter based in Kingston, New York, working at the edge of the Hudson Valley. Her paintings begin with overlooked scenes—birch groves, bridge cables, river light—rendered in expressive, gestural brushwork with bold contrasts of light and shadow. Working from her studio at the Makery, she draws on the city's brick facades, river fog, and quiet corners for inspiration. Alongside her featured paintings, she creates custom commissions of meaningful places and memories, often marked with a hand-painted barkcode, built through conversation and reference materials before becoming a finished original. Her work is currently featured in a group exhibition on memory and place in the Hudson Valley.
