2027 National Indigenous Self-Determination Conference

This conference brings together Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Elders, educators, community leaders, employers, policymakers and Indigenous business owners in Cairns, Queensland, from 25-27 August 2027. Over three days, delegates explore practical solutions to improve educational outcomes, expand employment pathways, strengthen Indigenous businesses and address barriers to economic participation. The event champions Indigenous leadership, community ownership and the right of First Nations peoples to shape their own priorities and economic futures. The programme includes conference themes, speakers, a call for papers, a dinner event and registration, organised with respect for cultural protocols and acknowledgement of Country.
