Description

This project follows an attempt to circumnavigate the globe in under 80 days without flying, departing London on 2 October 2028. It commemorates Jules Verne's fictional 1872 journey of Phileas Fogg and Michael Palin's real 1988 trip, aiming to beat both records using only trains, ships, buses, boats and feet. The site tracks progress leg by leg, from Europe to Egypt, across the Arabian Sea, through Asia, the Pacific, America and the Atlantic, noting which routes are solved or still unresolved. Followers can track the journey's progress and updates on Instagram as the traveller meets people along the way, from ship captains to station cooks.
