Old wood from the Berner Oberland, crafted into unique pieces
Holzwertig is a one-person workshop in the Berner Oberland region of Switzerland that transforms reclaimed wood from old barns, stables and houses into custom furniture, wall panelling and decorative items. Each beam carries its own history, visible in cracks, nail holes and weathered patina, which is preserved by hand-sawing, planing and oiling rather than fully restored. Pieces are made to order in small quantities, with direct contact between maker and customer, allowing changes during the process. Customers are invited to bring a photo or sketch of their idea to develop a design together. The business focuses on individual, handcrafted results rather than mass production.
