Rohingya-led film and photography training in Kutupalong camp
Rohingya Film School is a community-rooted, Rohingya-led film and photography school founded in February 2020 in Kutupalong Camp, Cox's Bazar, Bangladesh. Originally known as Omar's Film School, it trains young Rohingya people in filmmaking and photography so they can document their own lives and preserve cultural heritage. The school produces community films, photography exhibitions, and a visual archive, while offering learning resources and training programs. It was founded by Omar Faruk, his brother Mohammed Faruque, and fellow storytellers including Saidul Huq, Mohammed Kasim, and Mohammed Zonaid. The school emphasizes storytelling told from within the community, by Rohingya for Rohingya, fostering hope, health, and heritage.
